Also, on flickr, is a set of pictures of the Old Ballard Street Signs. Or at least, the ones that I've processed so far.
I like that very much.
It's the sort of thing that makes me think I should get serious about textile art...
Love this texture shot. The Ballard Street signs make me realize, among other things, that I don't know the names of streets in Ballards! Chestnut? Crawford? You don't say! I also like the backwards esses.
Actually, it's all just numbers now, although sometimes I think it would be neat to bring back the names. They could start at 1st Ave. NW or something. And the backwards esses amuse me too. Only a couple times, how'd that happen?
Ah, okay, glad to know it wasn't just another case of my complete obliviousness. Wonder why they gave up these names for the numbers.
That could be one of the planks in the Free Ballard! movement: Bring back our street names! We are not numbers!
They could make Patrick McGoohan their spokesperson. Or spokesghost, at this point.
I *love* the shapes and textures in that! Really gorgeous!
Thanks! I'm thinking of keeping my eyes open for more sidewalk textures like the above, and this one
I like that one a lot too!
Glad you like it, ma'am! And I hope your shoulder's holding up under the ALA. Yeah!
