Today I asked Julie if she would like to avail ourselves of the legal, social, and economic special privileges accorded by state monopoly to the allegedly monogamous breeding pair. And she said yes! Whoo hoo!
Thank you! We're filled with a mixture of trepidation happiness and anticipation, and mostly the latter two. Yeah!
H and I will only cross that road if Texas decides my insurance benefits are eroding the fine institution of marriage and make just living in sin illegal.
But hurrah for you and Julie. Suck those legal, social and economic special privileges dry!
Actually, when WA state passed a Defense of Marriage Act or something in the 90s, I felt like getting a divorce (I was married to janeehawkins
at the time) very publicly, because we didn't plan on having children.
Part of the reason for the elaborateness of phraseology is because the people who are Defending Marriage don't realized that's what they're really limiting it to. Hah!
How cool. Except for the breeding part (you and Julie have talked about this, yes?), which makes me think rats or head lice, in which latter case whatever floats yer boat, I'll just be staying over with, um, someone else next time I'm in town.
Would you believe me for a second if I said we had talked and we do plan to have kids? Um, actually, we're both fixed.
No head lice. Rats, however, are a definite likelihood.
Fixed? When were you broken?
Thanks, folks. I'll be here all week!
You raise an interesting question there! Why *does* slang call it fixed when, according to some definitions and points of view, it actually means broken?
And congratulations to the pair of them.
Congrats! Wait until I tell Anita!

Many happy returns, youse guys! But shouldn't that be non-breeding breeding pair?
The law doesn't recognize non-breeders.
Oops, sorry, misread the point of the statement. Move along, nothing to see here ... well, except for the congratulations, ya lucky barstid!
Baaaacongratulationsbaaaaa. But really, I mean it, I do. Should I drastically change my hair color for this one, too, or is the shock value just not there anymore?
NO, NO! THAT'S OK!! Let's just keep the hair subdued, shall we?!
Everyone in my family still remembers you as the bridesmaid with the purple hair...
Well, at least that's better than being remembered as the fat one. *g*
