|11:51 pm - Western Trillium|
Schmidt Preserve Park, Seattle
I took a picture of trillium with my iPhone while out walking with Jay the other day. They are strikingly brilliant right now.
Great photo Luke.
I think this is their peak. There were dozens, at least, at Schmidt Park this afternoon. ("trillions of trilliums!" "masses of mosses!" "lots of lovely lichens!" "more than a few ferns!" "billions of buds!")
But of the hundred+ pictures I took this is the only one that I felt like posting.
That is so - Ontario. Except not a sign of them here yet, nor anything green.
They'll get there soon enough, I bet. We had an unusually mild winter and early spring. This means little snowpack on the Cascades, alas, which means water restrictions in the city. I hope it doesn't also mean a summer as hot as last year, with highest temperatures ever recorded.

I just planted 6 of those in my front yard. :)
They're one of my favorite flowers, for some reason. Good luck with them!
