|02:36 pm - Friends of North Beach Park: July 23rd|
[Of interest to Seattleites, but I'm not bothering to filter -- sorry!]
Yes, one week from today, we're having another work party at North Beach Park.
Address: Intersection of 24th Ave NW and NW 90th St.
Date: July 23, 2011
Time: 9 a.m. to Noon
What to wear and bring: Please bring water and snacks if you need them. Wear boots and sturdy clothes you're willing to get dirty. We will provide tools and garbage bags.
We're continuing to remove ivy from trees in the front of the park. This requires working on steep slopes and even a little bushwhacking to get to the trees.
There is also a lot of ivy and weed removal on the more gentle slopes.
The interior of the park needs weed and trash removal.
Please RSVP if you plan to attend so we can estimate tool needs. So far the work parties have each resulted in visible progress in cleaning up the park. We remove large amounts of invasive weeds, a few bags of trash, and some large items.
The work parties are the fourth Saturday of every month. The upcoming work parties are: August 27, September 24, October 22, and November 26.
Thanks in advance! We look forward to seeing you.
[Feel free to signal-boost, if there are Seattle friends on your reading lists who might not otherwise see this.]
