Cleaning with Sparkle
I just love this sign. There's a nonironic self effacing smile behind its apparent brag.1
So last night's photo expedition to Ballard was lots of fun. Drive a couple blocks, park, take a bunch of pictures, drive another couple blocks, repeat. I got the ladder out a couple times, and will get more comfortable with it as time goes on. Maybe I'll go to the Roosevelt District tonight. Yeah! Or maybe I'll get lots of theatre marquees, now that I have the ladder. Anyway, here are links to some of the new galleries I've created under Neon, with the number of images they currently contain:
Restaurants and Bars ("for later in the evening...") (three)
Window Ads (two, including the one linked to above)
1 Jeeze, can ya tell someone's been reading a lotta art crit books recently? Hah!
I hereby require you to visit the Las Vegas Neon Museum on Fremont St. I took many pics of the neon there, but they didn't turn out too well. You obviously have the knack!
The trick is: Underexpose. I could even underexpose a little more.
Las Vegas is Neon Mecca.
I've always been mesmerized by neon,
so I'm really diggin' these photos.
are you getting them with film or digital?
Digital, my D70. Thanks! I'm enjoying it more the more I look at it.
