Photographic Center Northwest Members’ Exhibition

Whatcom Museum of History & Art, Bellingham, WA

December 1 – January 15, 2007
Artists' Reception & Awards: Friday, December 1, 6-8pm

The Photographic Center Northwest features an annual juried exhibition by its members. This year’s juror is Scott Wallin. An important part of Wallin's professional mission is to promote contemporary Pacific Northwest photography, especially through exhibitions that engage a diverse audience. PCNW’s Members’ Exhibition features a broad spectrum of photographic work including Black & White, Color, Digital, and Alternative Processes. PCNW members are amongst some of Seattle's most devoted and unique emerging and established artists. Three cash prizes will be awarded by Scott Wallin at the opening reception.

Cindy Bittenfield, Hart Boyd, Leonard Correa, Christy Cusick, Monika J. Danos, Timothy Dowling, David Adam Edelstein, Nigel Euling, Gary Finholt, Paul Ford, Steve Luke Hanson, Kim Hood, Ryan Horvath, Pat Justis, Michael Kaufman, Dav e Kennedy, Tara McDermott, Luke McGuff, Clare McLean, Mark Moody, Karen Orders, Aaron Pultz, Andy Reynolds, Jonathan Smith, Robin Stein, Dustin Van Wyck, Teresa Vollan, Peggy Washburn, Stella Weinert, Eva Sköld Westerlind, Ryan Zoghlin.

A nonprofit center for photographic arts education, the Photographic Center Northwest is dedicated to offering fine art photography education, supporting the arts community, and enhancing public awareness of fine art photography. Students choose to take individual workshops and classes or to enroll in a comprehensive program, which includes a year-long thesis project. Our fine art photography curriculum encompasses concept, theory, aesthetics, and technical proficiency. The Photographic Center Northwest fosters community through gallery exhibits and receptions, lectures, projects with other arts organizations, artists-in-residence, events for members, darkrooms used by students and renters, and subsidized programs for youth.

Gallery hours: Monday 12 Noon - 9:30 pm, Tuesday – Friday
9:00 am - 9:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, and Sunday 12 Noon – 5:00 pm

Best of luck with the show. I'd like to go to the opening (always love openings) but alas I will be in Kitsap. I will get to the show. I want to see it.

I wish that being in Kitsap wasn't such a big deal, travelwise. As the crow flies, it is about 16 miles away, but instead of it being a 1/2 hour trip, it is a two to three hour voyage that is also expensive.
