Surprisingly bright for under a bridge, and that's interesting. And that's one heck of a beam coming down diagonally, and that's interesting. The timbers are generally rendered much lighter than I'm used to thinking of timber bridges, and that's either interesting or distracting, I'm not sure yet. And the precast cement panels overhead contrast with the wooden structure through most of the picture, I don't think I've ever seen a bridge with that kind of hybrid construction.

But everything catching my interest seems to be about the bridge, and the picture isn't about that I don't think. The title suggests not as well. I'm even a little confused about the "tree" of the title (I do see two candidates, not zero).

It was interesting to look at this as a negative (for others: I mean I inverted the web image; I'm not out there actually looking at his negatives, if this was even on film). Most of it looked roughly similar, but the big diagonal beam was dark rather than light and *that* completely imbalanced the picture.

I cropped off the left edge of the picture, which made it more obvious how close to the edge of the bridge I was when taking the picture. I cropped because there was a fairly large washed out area that kept attracting the eye.

I wanted contrast between the beams and the taller tree, and don't think I got it. Not just tonal contrast, but conceptual or metaphorical contrast.
