It has the grainy look of a newspaper photograph of forty years ago. How did you DO that?
The air was very hazy to begin with. Also, I desaturated quite a bit to accent the monochrome.
I love the content. But it looks like not all of your shades of grey are there. Kind of like when I have customers who change their photos in Microsoft Publisher by hitting the "increase sunlight" button a few times.
Good work, Luke, but if this is modified, I would love to see the raw photo to compare it with.
The major modifications in Raw were to decrease the highlight clipping, increase the blacks, and desaturate by about half. In Photoshop, I adjusted the midtones for depth and then sharpened.
Does this answer your questions?
It answers my questions, yeah.
But I'd still love to see your starting point to compare it with.
I think you have a fine eye, and I want to see what led to this result.
I love this "silver" weather and for me anyway this exactly captures the feeling of it. These are almost exactly the colours and tonal range I see looking across lake W this morning.
Thank you, sir. I'm both flattered and humbled. Yeah!
